The Synergy of Yoga and Ayurveda with Sakura

Ayurveda is the ancient Indian "science of life" which considers each individual as a unique expression of universal consciousness. We are all a union of energy and matter or rather a union of body, mind and consciousness.

Therefore, this science is based on the deep knowledge of the body and its relationship with the mind and spirit, so that there is the right balance between them, also taking into consideration psychological and environmental factors. Since the various aspects are connected to each other, an imbalance in just one of these aspects will give rise to a disturbance or disharmony.

Within Ayurveda, individuals are categorized into three types: sattvic, rajasic, and tamasic. Here, the focus will be on the characteristics of the sattvic type, as they serve as inspiration for personal growth. Sattvic individuals exhibit pure and positive thoughts about themselves and others, possess self-confidence and self-esteem, show respect for others, and do not cause harm. These qualities are just a glimpse of what characterizes a sattvic person. Ayurveda offers guidance in terms of suitable diets, meditation practices, and exercises for those who wish to embrace this type.

Recognizing the uniqueness of every individual, Ayurveda emphasizes the importance of maintaining the health of both body and mind. In this regard, the practice of yoga, pranayama (breathing exercises), and meditation can be immensely beneficial. Yoga and Ayurveda work together in harmony, sharing the same objectives.

It begs the question: Why not educate people on proper nutrition, healthy lifestyle choices, and regular practice of yoga and meditation? While the first step may not lead directly to the ultimate goal, it sets us in motion, propelling us forward from where we currently stand. So, why not take that first step towards enhancing our quality of life? Namaste.
